Russell Mining Co.Scenery

Preparing some “natural” ground cover from dirt or rocks. It cost nothing to produce.

Using various size sieves, produces various grades of ground cover.

Diorama slowly coming alive, in under a week, using spare time during my normal daily chores. Very relaxing project, with no timeline to finish.

While strolling on the beach with my girlfriend, recently... I noticed various types of seaweed / sponges washed onto the sand. Thru careful selection, I managed to fill a bag for that one day, future large scale project. Some of the seaweed looked very similar to lichen, which is found in the forest, but this stuff was more “finescale”.     At some stage, I will spray small areas of each “bush” and sprinkle very fine Woodland scenics powder.......

Scenery is about realism.... and  will spend as much time as needed, to achieve it..

Preparing some “weeds” for future planting.  Ideal project to relax the mind. These bundles tied together, will allow constant “furry” ends, instead of “flat top” weeds..

I can cut one whole end for big weeds or bits of each end, for various small weeds......hold the weed when cutting.........              have a blob of white glue handy , ... dip the weed end in... and stand / plant onto the ......... layout / rocks / Frocks / anywhere....at the same time, use the scissors to spread the weed apart, slightly....  hope all that makes sense......

The special scissors with the “pinky” holder, allows me to hold them, while cutting and planting.....

It’s been a productive day, in the nursery................
