Green River

I ran a loco yesterday to fine tune the track. With the double eight configuration, and a track plan within a tight area, there were spots, where both Porter and rolling stock jumped the rails.  But hey, this is a “quickie” project and at the end of the day... it really is just a diorama....Here are a few “happy Snappies”..

I’m still using aligator clips for wiring my layouts. Keeping it simple.

“FRocks” to create vertical, lightweight scenery

Using removeable bases to cover the track, plus having a number of these bases, will allow various scenes to be interchanged.

The track is Peco “Crazy Track” On30...  however, this diorama could quickly resemble, On30, 3/8thn20 or Gn15..

The “Rubber Gauging”....   continues.

Til next time...

Adding a few trees, helps visualise the overall concept.

Note that the trees, with wire ends, hold very well into the foam rubber. Once the Texture paint is applied and dries, the “FRocks” will have a hard surface and trees will be permentantly fixed

Creating tunnels is simple with foam rubber

Adding more vertical scenery, to achieve a feel of depth and height, within a very small area. I like the way, that by ripping / tearing foam rubber , it gives that rugged rock look.

It looks a mess at the moment, but I can see and feel of the high mountains, somewhere in Colorado.

It won’t be long, before I add the texture paint and apply highly diluted house paint and natural dirts.
